Coffee Tips

Fresh Roast Always

Brew freshly roasted whole-bean coffee, grinding just before brewing. For optimal taste, brew within 5 to 7 days of roasting.

Choose the Right Grinder

When selecting a grinder, consider your choices: Blade grinders, although budget-friendly, lack consistency. Burr grinders, albeit pricier, guarantee uniform grind size, making them suitable for all brewing methods.

Weigh Coffee with a Scale

In the past, using "scoops" for coffee measurement was common. Now, it's crucial to use a precise coffee scale, especially considering how roast type affects weight. Consistent weighing ensures reliable brewing across methods.

Store Beans Airtight and Cool

Protect beans from air, moisture, heat, and light to maintain freshness. Store in opaque, airtight containers at room temperature. Opt for a dark, cool location away from heat sources. Consider investing in proper storage canisters for long-term freshness.

Use Quality Water

Choose water wisely for optimal coffee. Tap water, often hard, can dull flavor and harm machines. Ideal water has balanced hardness and alkalinity. High alkalinity yields a flat taste; low hardness leads to weak, sour coffee.
